The American Thyroid Clinic web site is brought to you by The Thyroid Surgery Center of Texas, P.A. R. Anders Rosendahl, M.D., F.A.C.S. is its medical director. In addition to extensive surgical training in the United States, including Head and Neck Cancer fellowship at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Dr. Rosendahl has also trained in Canada, Mexico, and the University of Lund in Sweden. He was Board certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1980-1990, then proceeded to enter the sub-specialty of Head and Neck and Thyroid Surgery. Over the past almost 30 years, his practice in Thyroid Surgery has grown to where he has performed thousands of thyroid operations on patients from around the world at his clinic in the Texas Medical Center. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Head and Neck Society. Dr. Rosendahl was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and has been a consulting surgeon at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, Park Plaza Hospital, Twelve Oaks Hospital, Health South Hospital for Specialized Surgery, Hermann Hospital, and Womens' Hospital. Dr. Rosendahl was Chief, Section of Head and Neck Surgery at Park Plaza Hospital for almost two decades.
An unusually large percentage of our patients are doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals who are usually quite knowledgeable and skilled in the process of choosing their physician.
Dr. Rosendahl is now practicing in Austin, the capital of Texas, having established The Thyroid Surgery Center of Texas, P.A., where he will continue to see selected patients requiring thyroid surgery.
